N2  - People seem to be storytellers by nature. You might be surprised to find. Thogt, that the oldest stories in the word probably took the form of what we now call plays, or drama. Many scholars believe that drama existed even among prehistoric people. (We can imagine early humans acting out scenes of the hunt in their fire-illuminated caves).The first plays we know about in Western literature were staged in Greece in the fifth century B.C. Some form of drama was performed in India and China many years earlier than that so long ago that no one can pinpoint exactly when drama began. A drama is simply a story acted out. Today we see dramas on TV and in the movies, as well as on the stage, but for centuries plays were acted out in front of live audiences. All plays, whether from the East or the West, share certain characteristics, though each culture puts its unique stamp on its dramatic productions
